Why cant i understand spanish on tv sometimes?
Hello. Why cant i understand some words on the news when they talk?
Why cant me and my friend who study spanish sometimes, why cant we understand some tv shows with mexican comedians speaking spanish?
Do any of you have any tips on how so i can get to understand spanish more?
You probably don’t have enough vocabulary memorized and don’t understand native expressions.
Each language has these, and you have to get them all down to be considered fluent.
Your best bet is to get some Spanish CDs and listen to understand the songs. Look up words you don’t know. Chances are there will be regional dialect and slang. Understanding slang as well as proper language is a big part of knowing a language.
Watch about 30 minutes of programming. Write down words you don’t know.
Find native friends. I spoke to English-speaking people all the time to help me understand, because I knew if I spoke to another Spanish-speaking person, we’d resort to Spanish if we got frustrated.
