Yellow Bird
A Yellow and black (maybe brown) bird?
I was biking along and out of nowhere, I saw this yellow bird with what looks like black wings zoom by me. I didn’t get a close look, but I was wondering if anyone has heard of such a bird? It was a pretty bright yellow and it looked like it had black wings, but it might have just been a stripe or something. Anyone know what kind of bird this is?
If in northern North America, you probably saw a goldfinch. The males are BRIGHT yellow with black on the leading portion of the wing. They also have a black cap on the top of their head. The females are a much duller brown with very little yellow.
Type ‘american goldfinch’ into Yahoo! images and see if that looks like the culprit!
