This movie takes place in a city (I think brooklyn but am not sure) in the 50s. A young white boy falls for a black girl and the movie shows the racism that an interracial couple would have faced at the time. This movie was made in the late late late 80s or 90s.

Its called a Bronx Tale and the boy is Italian.
