Is it illegal to leave a bar/music venue with a bottle of water purchased inside?
Specifically Tulsa OK, I was leaving a concert at this music venue when a security started saying I couldn’t leave with my water. (Clear ozarka water bottle, purchased inside the establishment) I continued walking outside and the security guard charged me an 2 wrestled me to the ground injuring my face and ankle. Police officer had them let me up and asked me what happened and let me leave. What should I do?
I agree with Maura. However, venue security cannot verify if it was water or vodka in the bottle. In Florida, you are not allowed to enter or leave a venue with any liquids in a cup or bottle. You may empty the bottle or cup and refill it with water that is available at the entrance and exit. Sealed bottles of water are the exception. It is a precaution against drinking and driving. The reaction of the guard was excessive, but they should have detained you, called the officer and settled the dispute without the violence. I definitely would have reported the incident of violence to the event sponsor.
