Too Good

Too Good
I would like to believe in an earthly paradise where people live forever, but isn’t that too good to be true?

Not according to the Bible. It seems too good to be true only because mankind has known the bad for so many centuries. Jehovah created the earth and told mankind to fill it with righteous men and women who would care for its plant and animal life and preserve its beauty instead of destroying it.
Rather than that promised Paradise being too good to be true, the present sorrowful state is too bad to continue. Paradise will replace it.

You’re views?

I would like to share three passages from the Bible with you:

Zephaniah 1:2: “’I will completely remove ALL things from the face of the earth,’ declares the LORD. ‘I will remove man and beast; I will remove the birds of the sky And the fish of the sea, And the ruins along with the wicked; And I will cut off man from the face of the earth,’ declares the LORD.” As you can see, this judgment has never occurred at any time in earth’s past history. It continues on down, ending at Zeph. 1:18: “…And all the earth will be devoured In the fire of His jealousy, For He will make a complete end, Indeed a terrifying one, Of ALL the inhabitants of the earth.”

Revelation 13:1: “And the dragon stood on the sand of the seashore. Then I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and on his horns were ten diadems, and on his heads were blasphemous names.” This passage continues, and in verse 8, says: “All who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been slain.”

Revelation 17:8: “The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And those who dwell on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.”

Now you have been taught that active, sincere Jehovah’s Witnesses will safely ride out Armageddon here on this earth, and they will remain here and walk into Paradise when it’s all over. These verses should be enough to cast serious doubt on what you’ve been told.

I wouldn’t want to be anywhere in the vicinity of the earth when this judgment takes place. It is also referenced at 2 Peter 3:10-12 and Hebrews 12:26-27 (“And His voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised, saying, ‘Yet once more I will shake not only the earth, but also the heaven.’ This expression, ‘Yet once more,’ denotes the removing of those things which can be shaken, as of created things, so that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.”)

I am so thankful to God that he has already rescued me from the domain of darkness and transferred me into Jesus’ kingdom (Col. 1:13) because as Hebrews 12:28 says, his kingdom cannot be shaken! And it’s not because of anything I’ve done to deserve it, but because of the lovingkindness of God the Father who sent his only begotten Son to pay the price for my sins if I only believe.

The Bible admonishes us to “Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.” (Colossians 3:2)

I do very much look forward to the new heavens and the new earth referred to in 2 Peter 3:13 in the eternal state as described in the last two chapters of Revelation.

There, the children of God will be free to come and go between the new heavens and earth as we go about whatever satisfying work God has in store for us. For the gates of the holy city will never be closed (Rev. 21:25).

Is your name written in the Lamb’s book of life? (Rev. 21:27)

The “good news” that the Watchtower preaches about (life forever either on paradise earth or in heaven IF you qualify) is not the gospel of the Bible. The good news of the Bible is the Gospel of Jesus Christ: eternal forgiveness for our sins through the ranson of Jesus Christ and eternal salvation into His presence. And the only qualification the Bible teaches is to come to Jesus Christ and surrender our will to Him. (John 5:39-40, 6:40, 11:25-26; Rom. 6:23, 8:1-9; 1 John 5:11-13)
