Tin Tin

Can you use a normal round cake tin instead of a springform tin?
I want to make a cake and it says to use a springform tin, but as I don’t have one I was wondering wether it would make a difference if I used a normal round cake tin.
Yes, you can use a cake round.
There are advantages to both. A cake round is the best for most cakes. Just make sure you grease it well before baking.
If your baking a cheesecake, I would steer clear of a springform pan. Since a cheesecake is a custard based cake, its safest if you cook it in a water bath to prevent the eggs from overcoagulating. If you are using a springform pan, the seal may not form tight enough and water could get into your cake.
