Theodore Bikel

Who is actor Theodore Bikel?

He is an actor and singer who has had an amazing career. I first knew of him as a folk singer. He was one of the founders of the New Port Folk Festival. He sang in a variety of languages including German, Russian French, Hebrew and Yiddish.His first movie role was as the young German navy officer in the African Queen with Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn. He has made dozens of movies, appeared on every major TV series and has appeared in many roles on and off Broadway. He is especially known for his role of Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof. He’s in his 80s now and last I heard he was still performing.
