Upgrading to Mines of Moria

Posted by: Admin   in Tech Issues

Some things to do:

  • If you have pre-irdered or if you did the early upgrade you can add the key to your account at http://myaccount.turbine.com to get the items and benefits from pre-ordering.
  • If you bought a digital upgrade you will need to download and install on the same day that LOTRO: MoM launches. If you are awaiting for the pro-order retail box you will need to download the 2.7GB patch and apply it once Turbine announces MoM on the servers.

Players who do not have the expansion on November 18th will have to download the 2.7GB patch and continue playing Shadows of Angmar without the option to enter the new areas.

If you want to participate in the Mines of Moria Beta Program you just need to review and fill the form ar www.unlocktheminesofmoria.com. Beta Program is open.

The press release describing the three product types for Mines of Moria have been posted in the forums at LOTRO.com.

  • Lord of The Rings Online: Mines of Moria - Complete Edition
  • Lord of The Rings Online: Mines of Moria - Special Edition
  • Lord of The Rings Online: Mines of Moria - Digital Edition

Get Ready for Mines of Moria

Posted by: Admin   in General Gameplay

With Book 14 ready for download and Mines of Moria comming in a few months here is a list of things you can do to get ready:

  • First of all save money if you need to… :D MoM is not a free content update
  • Max out all your preferred traits
  • Finnish all your unfinished quests… not only for rewards / money but also because this will help you with some deeds and it will leave the quest log free for the new content… new quests… new xp to get… back into the leveling business
  • Save some gold… new skills, maybe housing? and other content types will be available in MoM… and they will not be free.
  • Work on your crafting skills. Crafting will include some good news so be prepared to take the most of it
  • If you have low level alts try to take them to level 50. Two or more level 50 is always useful to understand more aspects of the game

Gamespy has two articles about Book 14 and Mines of Moria (another MoM article will be available tomorrow)

Unlock the Mines of Moria First Game

Posted by: Admin   in General Gameplay

Small tip for this Risk-like game: keep some armies at the end of every turn and if you can leave them near places where there is only one army. This will make it easier for the next round, but keep in mind that other players may modify this scenario.
