Speaker box shape, sealed enclosure.?
Does the shape of the box have much affect on the sound, given the cubic volume remains the same? I am building a stereo system for my Rabbit GTI soon. I will have a single 10″ sub in a sealed box, right at 1.5 cubic feet in volume. Would a box (6″H x 30″W x 15″L) sound tremendously different from a box (12″H x 15″W x 15″L)? I want the shallower 6″ high box to keep the sub as low in the hatch area as possible for theft prevention. The volume for both boxes is identical at 1.56 cubic feet.
you will be fine. the shape of a sealed box has very little effect on the sound quality.
