He was a fool to think
he’d tote his heart in a backpack
Run away with the girl of his dreams
And never come back
Bobby took every poem she ever wrote him
Put it in a bottle
And threw it in the sea
With hope that it would reach somebody
And make them believe in true love
Bobby knew there was no such thing

Never wrote again
