Saturday Morning

Saturday Morning
Travel on friday morning or saturday morning richmond to DC better?

I’m driving from richmond to DC via 95N next weekend, would it be better traffic wise, to leave on Friday morning (after rush am rush hour) or saturday morning (about 7-730 am)? I know traffic is unpredictable and such around DC but which would get me there faster? Thanks!

Saturday morning by far!

Why not Friday? There is more construction on the highways during the weekdays. There are still more work commuters on a Friday, even during the non-rush hours. There are more tractor trailer trucks on the roads, because most businesses only accept deliveries on weekdays. There are also more smaller delivery trucks, for the same reason – most businesses want to take delivery during the weekdays. Finally, while school buses don’t generally travel the interstate highways, they are traveling the back roads, which the interstates feed onto. There can sometimes be a slight back-up on the off ramps because of school buses loading and unloading children.

Anyone that tells you that there is no difference has obviously not traveled the highways like I have at all hours of the day and all days of the week.
