When would you use your favorite quotation or song title from an old movie or TV show?
Example: I always liked “Happy Trails to You!” sung by Roy Rogers & Dale Evans. I like to write it on “going away” or retirement cards at work. Maybe it would be good for my tombstone! At least it’s sweet & not gloomy.
I appreciate Bob Hope’s “Thanks for the memories” and either state that or include it on greeting cards.
When I am in a social setting, I imitate Carol Burnett and sing out, “I’m so glad we had this time together …” I also recite my favorite child star, Shirley Temple, and sing, “Good night, my friends, sleep tight, my friends, God bless you, pleasant dreams, nightie night.”
I am a very schmaltzy person.
