Underdog Wins With Michael Grimm America’s Got Talent Triumph
Another “America’s Got Talent” year has ended. An absolute front runner was hard to pick, as there was not a bad choice in the “America’s Got Talent” final four. The contest came down to Michael Grimm, Prince Poppycock, Jackie Evancho and dance troupe Fighting Gravity. The ending was awesome, and had some great guest appearances. Donna Summer and Jewel had duets with contestants, and an appearance from Lionel Ritchie made the last episode as solid as a brick house. Evancho was very easily the favorite. A girl of only ten, with a powerful operatic voice belying her years and bringing comparisons to Susan Boyle. However, those ideas were put paid. Michael Grimm strolled away the victor.
Finale a thing to view
The “America’s Got Talent” season five finale was set to be an epic contest. The final competitive stage, though, took place two days before it. That is when the contestants put on the last performance for points for the season. Michael Grimm would be at home in any of this type of programs. The singer/songwriter type with a blues tinge is always a hot commodity if the person in question is good. Prince Poppycock sings pop songs in an operatic fashion, fusing Lady Gaga, Paul Revere and also the Raiders, and Kiss with the makeup and elaborate classical era costumes. Then there was Jackie Evancho. Evancho has been a sensation all year, as the tiny ten year old has a titanic voice. The odd man out, of sorts, was Fighting Gravity, and incredibly talented dance troupe.
Grimm mood for the last show
The voting is just like “American Idol.” Also, viewers have to wait to see the results. Piers Morgan pulled no punches on the finale, according to Columbia Broadcasting System. He buzzed Prince Poppycock, who had been a crowd favorite all season. In fairness, Prince Poppycock has one act however has different songs. Evancho is extraordinary as a result of her talent, however even a 10-year old singing opera ballads gets a bit old after awhile. That is probably why Michael Grimm won “America’s Got Talent.” Singers triumph this program, as only one of the five winners has not been a singer. As outlined by Individuals, Grimm already has plans. He will buy a house for his grandparents.
Attendees steal the show
The finale also had some amazing guest spots. Poppycock performed with Donna Summer, Lionel Ritchie sang “Dancing on the Ceiling” for Fighting Gravity and Grimm performed a duet with Jewel, singing “Me and Bobby McGee.” It was a good year. The finale was awesome too.
