Why Is Electronic Trance Music Popular In Europe But Not In North America?
Well, I live in the USA and I seem to be the only one in North America who loves Trance music… Artists like ATB, Tiesto, and so on are unheard of here.. No one here knows who they are.. Now what does not make sense to me is if these Trance artists are with the same record company as people like Lady Gaga who are popular in North America.. I wonder why these companies don’t even try to at lease introduce Trance music to the mainstream music of America.. Also When people here ask me “Whats your favorite type of music?” and I say Trance.. They are like “What the hell is that?” Can anyone tell me why?
I LOVE TRANCE/ELECTRONICE/HOUSE MUSIC!! I think its because the artists/dj are from Europe, sometimes the lyrics are even in their own native language like dutch, and North America is mainly dominated by American artists its not just the label. Also, Europe has always had its own unique culture seperate from America whether it be the sport (soccer), fashion or history- it has a unique identity and America wants to maintain its own identity it doesnt want to become Europeanized- so they make sure to make the mainstream music is Pop American. Regardless, there are many underground house/trance music lovers int he states like in Chicago, Detroit and some places in NewYork. And a lot of clubs are now playing more House versus hip Hop which I think is dying down in popularity. Im from Canada by the way but its the same here as well. House is still kinda underground but i love it! I love Deadmau5, Swedish House Mafia, Benny Benassi, Paul Van Dyk, Armin Van Buurren, Guetta, Fedde Le Grande, Dj Shah, Bob Sinclair, Dirty South the list goes on! Keep on loving this amazing music who cares what the rest of north america thinks! xxx
