Rare Yugo
How to get ownership stats on Yugos, other rare automobiles in the US.?
I am revising this question. I know that the Yugo was marketed in the U.S. from about 1986 to 1992 and about 110,000 were sold. Professional research agencies like R.L. Polk charge a fee for this service. Perhaps someone knows of other resources I might try?
The Yugo was sold in Yugoslavia as a Zastava and was sold in America from 1985 until Yugo went bankrupt in early 1989. They reintroduced the car for 1990 and 1991. The car was a complete flop in America but they actually sold 141,511 total with 1987 the best year at 48,500 and 1991 the worst at 3,981. By 1996 or 1997 nearly all were in the junk yard.
