JUST A FEW DAYS APART, MY FRIEND AND I GAVE BIRTH IN THE SAME MONTH. Only a few days separated our date with the stork. Only a couple of days separated our date with the stork. This is my second time, while it was my friend’s third already. Our house also happens to be just next to each other. As it is, we always have the time to views and concerns when it comes to taking care of our toddlers. We also help each other take care of our little ones. It’s a convenient arrangement that’s very helpful in our everyday schedule. If she has to go out on a sudden errand or pick up mail or purchase a stuff in a jiffy, I can easily take care of her baby. When I accompany my son on his way to school, I leave my toddler to the care of my friend. It’s a lucky coincidence that our infants have the same kind of milk formula. When one of us unexpectedly runs out of milk, we turn to each other for assistance. One day my friend told me about this free baby items she saw in the internet. To avail of the free baby items, one just need to register. She is urging me to sign up, saying the stuff will help us. I’m not interested, I said to her. Actually, I don’t believe in those things. I’ve always believe, these are just scams to get information from us. My friend did not pursue the matter anymore and just shrugged her head.
I never gave it much thought and forgot all about the free baby items. As if on cue, just a week or so after, I run out of milk again. I went over to my friend’s house to see if she have some milk she can spare me. The baby is just hollering to be fed. I’ll compensate her later. She and I knows that if we borrow milk from each other, it will also put a dampen in our stock. It’s a good thing she have and ask me to wait. I took the liberty of bringing a bottle already. This will save the trouble of wrapping and unwrapping the few scoops of milk. I was kind of surprised at her generosity when she handed me a sizeable pack. I said to her that, as usual, I only need enough for one bottle. She said it’s okay since she have a lot of the stuff. She reminded me of the free baby items promo from weeks back. Says the milk came from them. It was really an honest to goodness offer. She then proceeded to show me more of the free stuff. She told me that the offer is still good. I went home and proceeded to feed the baby. It will really be foolish of me not sign up for the free baby items.
