What guitar was used in Jailhouse Rock by Elvis Presley?
I’m doing this for a music assignment and I need to know what intruments were used. I can hear:
-vocals
-piano
-drumkit
-guitar
please list some more and also tell me what guitar it was. (acoustic, electric, bass etc)
That song was written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller but they never had a hit with it. Elvis put it out sometime in 1957 (I think) and the instruments used were varied. I don’t know anything about the piano or drums except that D.J. Fontana played drums and Dudley Brooks played piano. I don’t know what models they used. The rest is as follows.
Scotty Moore (electric guitar) played a 1954 Gibson L5

Elvis played a Gibson J 200 model acoustic.

Bill Black (upright bass, double bass, bull bass…whatever you want to call it) Kay Maestro M1 bass. (Sometime in early 1957 he switched to an electric Fender P Bass, but used the upright in all the movies and concerts up until then.
