Lately I’ve been listening to a lot of folk and pop, and a combination of the two put together. But I’m having trouble finding artists that might fit the category. I will list a few well-known artists I really enjoy, and hopefully you can relate and guide me towards a few new artists. I usually spend time at CD Baby discovering new music.

one way to explore music that’s free is to join yahoo music’s launchcast. it’s kind of ‘buggy’ at times, and it does have commercials, but you can rate and recommend artists, and yahoo will recommend artists similar to the ones you enjoy. you have to spend a little bit (okay, a fair amount) of time doing this before the program will accurately represent your tastes, but i’ve heard things i’ve liked on launchcast that i’d never heard of before.
one more note, knowing your tastes you might like this. i enjoy an npr program called world cafe on kumd – 103.3, duluth, mn. you can check and see if it’s offered on one of your local npr stations, or listen directly off the kumd website around 2 pm cdt.
