Paper Roses

Paper Roses
Love sky blue in the dark night roses crying dolly paper rain?

Only those intelligent enough may be able to comprehend.

Think hard, my friend.

It’s a tone poem, that’s clear. I _think_ the key might be to read the first word, “love” as a verb.

It’s about the memory of flowers–the roses remembering better days before being cut for a bouquet, only to be discarded, rejected. They’re in an open trash bin now, it’s raining, and there’s nobody for the bouquet to “talk to”, so to speak, in the trash.

But they’re flowers, in the dark, and it’s raining, so who knows better?

Just attempting a half-educated guess. I admit I’m really hit-and-miss with poetry.
