It took me while to find this one (and a small question at the advice channel).
The Falconer’s Tower is not near Othrikar as you may excpect. The tower is actually east of the Norbury Gates in Fornost. It is best to aproach the area from the eastern side, enter the ruins and turn left to go outside again, follow the road, do a U turn and you will see the tower.
A not-so-used item for hunters is the tripwire trap. It knocks the mob to and opens a Fellowship Maneuver (not always).
Though it is not 100% reliable it is a good alternative when there are no classes that can effective open a FM during a fellowship.
At the beginning your skills will not be enough to make yourself a survivor in Middle Earth. That changes as soon as you get closer to level 50. So at the beginning try to get the traits that will help you to kill mobs like the staff bonus damage and also the traits for healing yourself / ally.
Learn to use your pet (bear for melee, crow for ranged) and learn the skill types (ranged, tactical, melee) and damage types (after level 20 you an check mobs). Every mob has a weakness for a certain type of damage. Beleriand damage is the most common at higher levels but some mobs have different mitigation types.
Pay attention to the areas and learn how to use it for your own advantage. Breaking Line of Sight (LOS) will help you avoid other players skills and even pass undetected some times
Get into dense mob areas such as Sarnur, Goblin Town to look for this recipes. But remember that loot tables were updated after Book 13 so Tailor, Jeweller recipes that were most common before are now diuluted with all the other profession recipes.
Remember recipes drop from humanoid mobs (orcs, goblins, dourhands, angmarim, etc)
Instead of using ZQSD to move around and using CTRL, ALT/SHIFT to access skills in the bars. I have found it to much more effective to use ESDF to move and Z/R to access skills… This way every skill is more in reach(especially skills on 9 and further…
It works better for me … Try it
Do not use the profession lore scrolls and shard for just one try. Wait until you hav serveral components to make more than one item that way your chances of getting a critical chance will increase
lately a lot of buzz about Beleriand Damage Bows have been around. The truth is that when you reach level 50 and you are into Raids and Instances you will need to check (or ask a friendly Lore master) damage types.
A great example is Cudur (Ettenmoors Bow) one of the best bows around. Great for soloing but useless in places like Sarnur Instance where Westernesse and Light Damage will outperform Beleriand Damage weapons.
These will drop randomly from human / humanoids. Specially high level ones. If you want to increase your chances of getting these I would suggest trying the following places: Sarnur, Annuminas, Goblin Town.
Small tip for this Risk-like game: keep some armies at the end of every turn and if you can leave them near places where there is only one army. This will make it easier for the next round, but keep in mind that other players may modify this scenario.
