What happens during a missing persons case?
I’m writing a story and the main character’s cousin is missing. What do the cops usually do during a missing persons case? By the way, the missing boy is fourteen.
okay well thats kinda perfect cause i was reported missing at 14 as well. the police tell every police car a disciption of the missng person, and send some officers out to search, they ask the parents to keep them up dated, and the parents get a crime number. the longer the search goes on the more serious it gets, and after about an hour they usaly get a helicopter involved and more police units. if you want to make it more dramatic, my friend lost her phone and the police found it and had a panic attack because that is usally a sign you have been kidnapped. if the search is at night it is more serious, (we went missing at midnight) the police just basicly search drive up main roads, look for clues to where you might be, when they find you they take you back to your parents and cancel the search.
