Men’s Shirts : Tips For Your Next Purchase
It can be tempting to think that a shirt is a shirt and it doesn’t matter which one you wear, because they’re “all the same”. The one you pick though, can have a huge impact on how you look, so it’s worth a bit of consideration. One cool shirt style for men is the lumberjack. Not just for cowboys, this looks great with a pair of dark jeans. The plaid pattern and dark colors work well together. They commonly come in flannel, but you can get lighter options, too.
The classic long-sleeved dress shirt is also eternally cool and looks great on every man. For a great, smart office look, you could go for a crisp white shirt that will look good no matter what you wear with it. Alternatively, you could go with a suave, dark color such as midnight blue, deep burgundy or dark green for a look that not only works with your suit in the office but will also look fantastic with a pair of your favorite jeans or some dark chinos.
For a twist on the classic dress shirt look, you could try going for a patterned alternative. These don’t have to be scary or garish, and a nice, subtle paisley print can look both smart and sophisticated. Choose one with a pattern that’s only a couple of shades different from the base color for a great look. Or, for an alternative office look, try going for a smart pinstripe shirt that will look great with your suit as well as helping you stand out for all the right reasons.
You don’t just have to stick to button-down shirts, though. For a great casual look, you could try a polo shirt that’s both sporty and stylish. You have more room to maneuver with color here, too, so it’s a great choice if you’re looking to spice things up a bit with a few brighter shades. Long-sleeved polo shirts are great teamed with a nice jacket in spring or fall, whereas short-sleeve versions are an absolutely fantastic addition to your summer wardrobe.
Lastly, you could always make like James Dean and go for a sexy crew neck tee. The ladies are sure to love it, provided you go for one that fits properly. Too loose and you may look like you’ve forgotten to change out of your pajamas, but too tight and you could end up with any bulges inadvertently on display. Casual chic is the aim here, so pick a shirt that isn’t too baggy and fits snugly against your body without being stretched too tight.
