Listen To My Dream – The Book Offering Homage To Martin Luther King Jr

Dreaming and standing up for that dream is what the book Listen To My Dream wants to convey. The book is generally about the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. from his early years until he was murdered in Memphis on April 4, 1968.  It speaks of how this young black boy wonders on why he is treated unlikely by other people and dreams on abolishing discrimination between the white people and the so called Negroes.

This 40 pages soft covered book is divided into two interesting parts. Part one is stuffed with narrative poetry describing the descriptive life of Martin Luther King, Jr. since he was a little boy. Couple Michael and Debi Pearl, filled up this area with bright colored pictures that even little girls and boys be focused on this inspiring tale. The second part of the book shows comprehensive facts about how Martin Luther King, Jr. inspired the civil rights movement.

The book, Listen To My Dream, opened from the time little Martin questioned his mother why people are treating him unlike the others and why he is a black boy. However, his desires of hope and assistance for his fellow men was enthused by the support of his teacher, Ms. Lemon of Oglethorpe Elementary and was set to have faith in that vision.

Later, he was further convinced to put his dreams into a reality when Rosa Parks refused to give up her front seat for a white person, thus King structured a boycott of the Montgomery bus system until all colored persons are treated equally. Ultimately, the Supreme Court banned racial discrimination in 1956 and both black and white share similar liberties. It ends with King’s funeral after he was murdered at Memphis in April 4, 1968.

This children’s book is an excellent representation on dreaming and transforming it into reality that will create a tremendous change into the lives of many people in our world. Though the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. is rich in records, the book, Listen To My Dream, fabricated an imaginative means for children to concentrate and focused on an impressive piece of history. The poetic approach of the book makes it enticing to read aloud to children and the account on the life of Martin Luther makes it educational for young ones to learn how people gained their equal rights as well as appreciate the fair privileges they now have.

Listen To My Dream is a motivation to people dreaming and desiring their dreams to turn into a reality. Martin Luther King, Jr. dwell a life filled with aspiration and willpower deserving of all the appreciation even until these days.
