Handmaids Tale by Margaret Atwood HELP?
The major colours in this book are red, green, blue, black, brown, and MAYBE white. Red is for the handmaids, blue for the wives, green for the gaurdians and the marthas, brown for the aunts, black for the commansders, and the enforcers, and white for those who are about to die. So in Handmaids tale, what is the psychology behind the use of the colours?
I didn’t think the colors themselves had particular meaning, e.g. red bad, green scary, etc. It seemed to me that dividing people into colors was more about the division itself than the colors. It’s about placing different values on people for arbitrary reasons.
