Types And Options For Home Flooring
After my child May Belle was born, I decided to begin the development of the house that I’ve been intending to build for my family. My architect cousin, Myrla, has already designed the house for me. We agreed to cooperate on the project. She was assigned to control the construction while I am in control of procuring the materials required and in dealing with varied shops and manufacturers. I had to go to assorted establishments including hardware, electric and flooring stores looking for materials to use for the house construction.
I had no clue it’d be such a big task. Choosing the flooring alone took plenty of time as there are several types to make a choice from. I had to make sure that I had the proper components for my place.
I had to choose between wood ( which in itself has many sorts: hardwood, softwood, laminate, bamboo, cork, etc ), ceramic tile ( quarry, porcelain, or terracotta ), stone ( slate or marble ), terrazzo (made from marble and other stone aggregates which can be made into mosaic with cultural or spiritual designs). If you’d like sturdy and ecologically friendly floors, select between bamboo and cork which are materials which make safer and fitter buildings. There are also vinyl and linoleum, also called adaptable floors which are less costly than wood and tiles or stone. Although cleaning them up is simple, they’re less durable than the other kinds of floors.
I chose to have a concrete floor as it is awfully durable while it is hard and cold and needs an exceedingly stable foundation, I am able to always use wall to wall carpet on top of it to make it more comfortable. Besides, carpeting is not as expensive as using stone, wood or ceramic floors.
But of course I can’t use carpeting in the loos so I selected ceramic tiles as these can’t get ruined even though they get wet and they are also easy to scrub. For the garage, I chose epoxy uninterrupted floors as it is cost saving and slip resistant.
Different parts of the house need differing types of flooring. It is necessary to pick the one which best suits each part of the house to have better and more functional floors.
