Lps Greatest
Coral advice for beginners!?
I have a 55 gallon tank with great water quality a good protein skimmer and alot of filtration and current. I also have 216 watts of t5 lighting on the 55 gallon tank. I have all sorts of softies in the tank and want to go into lps and sps. Im more interested in sps though. Are there any good beginner corals in this category? I feel like i have mastered softies so far. My tank is 1 1/2 years old.
Do things in moderation so i would try some LPS and SPS. For LPS i am a big fan of the big three as i call them. Hammers, Frogspawns, Torches. Torch corals are the harder ones to keep out of all of them but your lighting will be fine for them. Remember that they can sting other corals so you need to have them in places away from others.
For SPS you can get alot of small frags for cheap and allow them to grow. Birdsnest, Acroporas, milliporas, montis are all good SPS corals. Make sure your water chemistry is good and your flow is good and you should have success.
