John Hall

Hasn’t John McCain spent the last month whinging on about Obama not joining him in these Town Hall things?
So why does he now want to cancel his debate this week and the VP debate?
And BTW, Obama is under no obligation to do that town hall crap. McCain doesn’t set the rules unilaterally and they were obviously an attempt my McCain, who doesn’t draw crowds on his own, to take advantage of Obama’s ability to bring in a crowd. It is not Obama’s fault McCain can’t get people to come out and hear whatever nonsense Walnuts wants to talk about.
He wants to be in Washington legislating. OK lets take that at face value. When all of us are hearing the goings on in real time n the tv why can’t they – plus get the briefings like Obama has from all the key players and still be imputing on his own. In these days of teleconferencing there is no reason that every person be in Washington. Obama is correct when he said besides monitoring and participating in what is happening with the bail out the people need to be hearing from the candidates on what they are and will do on this.
However the debate could still happen – like Obama said – the leaders must be able to do more than one thing. They could do the legislating – fly to the debate and then spend the weekend campaigning as in reality the Senate is only going to meet on banker’s hours.
McCain needs to be back in Washington in the Senate – which is where he will be after Obama is sworn in as President in January. He is happy there – lets keep him there.
