Is John williams the greatest classical composer of our generation?

Do you consider him a classical composer?
Would you put him in the ranks of Bach and Beethoven?

Any composer after the classical era cannot be considered a classical composer, maybe a neo-classical composer if he writes in a classical manner. But most of John William’s songs are contemporary and do not exhibit classical characteristics (e.g. ‘question and answer’ form, etc.) Actually you can’t even box Bach and Beethoven together. Bach is a BAROQUE style composer and Beethoven is a ROMANTIC style composer.
