The 1932 version of “Smilin’ Through” starring Norma Shearer, is starts at $32.49 on Amazon!!! Yet the second version, made just 9 years later, with Jeanette MacDonald, is $9.95 and up. They’re not even DVD’s, just VHS!!!! How is this possible?

Supply and demand. The old one may be harder to find, thus is worth more.
