Brand names such as Getzen ,which you mentioned ,is a good trumpet.I play mostly Bach Stradivarius trumpets and cornets which are fine ,but new ones may be more than you want to pay. Other reliable brand names are Conn,King,Yamaha and Jupiter. You must at some point go to a music shop and check out the trumpets there. One good way to check out a horn is to play a few songs you like and know how to play,that way you get a better sense of the trumpet you check out than just playing scales. Look for a horn that has a sound you like not something someone says you should like.Pay attention to how smoothly the valves move when you play the trumpet .Good valve action is very important because valves are the only moving parts on a trumpet and must be reliable.Good Luck and Good trumpet playing.
