Chances of getting into NYU/ Columbia?
I am really looking into getting into NYU (silver specifically) and I was wondering if anyone thinks I have a chance at it. My gpa is a 3.8, i’m a minority, I’m taking honors classes (our school doesn’t have AP’s), taken classes at UCLA, taking an independent study course where we have to write 20+ pg research projects, I wrote an amazing essay about my friend and how he has been treated by privatized social programs, I have tons of extra curriculars; lead trumpet, capoeira, solo artist, guitar player, mariachi music, jazz, bass player, tennis, soccer, track political activist god I could go on… work experience and volunteer work mainly in low income areas and I have the drive to study psych/ social work. The only thing are my damn test scores which is an SAT composite of 1470 (reading, math, writing). I took it 3 times and improved from 1200 to 1470. Do I still have good chances of getting into either NYU or Columbia?
