Why Choose A Self Catering Holiday in St Ives, Cornwall
A holiday in West Cornwall should be on everyone’s travel agenda at some time in their life. It may not be as hot as the Caribbean or as sunny as Spain but you can drive or fly there and find something different to do every day.
Maybe all you want to do is go to the beach. If so then West Cornwall has some of the best beaches in the world. Beautiful sand and great surf provide you with a choice of a different beach or cove every day should you want.
Some of the local attractions include Geevor tin mine, Tate gallery St Ives, Minack theatre, St Michael’s Mount, Land’s End, Trengwainton Gardens, Goonhilly, Flambards, Bird Paradise and the Isles of Scilly.
The stunning Eden Project is a little further to travel but a unique experience.
Golf enthusiasts will find the Lelant golf course and Cape Cornwall golf course two great venues. Both overlook the sea and have a wild feel about them that could bring out the best in you.
There are three swimming pools in the area. The Penzance Jubilee pool is an outdoor sea-water pool built in Art Deco style and open in the summer months. The Penzance and St Ives indoor pools are both 25m heated pools run as part of the local leisure facilities and open 7 days a week.
Eating out is normally one of the really enjoyable aspects of any holiday, especially experiencing different venues and food. Many restaurants get fresh fish every day from Newlyn and there is a growing number of well respected chefs in the area. The whole peninsula is dotted with good quality restaurants and cafes. Just book early in the peak summer months.
Finding accommodation is a relatively easy task as there are so many self-catering apartments, flats and cottages. Another option is the vast assortment of bed &breakfast places available.
One such self-catering haven is a 19th century converted barn in an idyllic location, one of utter tranquility, in the environs of St Ives. From here you can visit any of the above places with ease. For walkers and nature lovers here is paradise on your doorstep.
