I got it done friday and its swelling,sorta bleeding,painful,stinging,and my gums are turning blood red is it infected?
Redness and swelling in a piercing for the first few days is common, same for stinging, and leaking of a clearish fluid called lymph fluid (this is what forms crusties).
Take 400mg (2 pills) to 600mg (3 pills) of Ibuprofen every 4-6 hours for a couple of days, clean it 2-3 times per day, drink cold water (will aleviate some of the swelling and stinging).
If it continues for more than a week, you may be having a reaction to the metal. Some studios order cheap jewelry, and cheap jewelry should never be used in a fresh piercing. If it is really bothering you, go back to your piercer and let them take a look at it. By seeing it, they would be able to give you more help than ANY of us here.
