Video Content – High Speed Internet Offers Access To A World Of Video Content
Sometime over the past couple of decades the planet we live on became the world we live in. What once was unknown to the majority of mankind is now available at the click of a mouse, or a handful of keystrokes. Ancient cultures, tribal rituals, lush rain forests, devastating poverty, and natural disasters that resemble a nightmare from last week. Uploaded video content by any citizen of the worldwide social media network is now instantly available, even to the remotest corners of the world.
High speed internet coaxed online video technology out of its adolescence of still pictures that took minutes to download, to the mature streaming of high definition movies, which are downloading faster than you’re watching it. It’s practically television. We’ve graduated from the static to the dynamic in less than a generation, which means the revolutionary actually became evolutionary, and things would never be the same again.
The entire visual arts industry has greatly benefited by technologies that have allowed full motion video to be shown over internet connections that once were phone lines, and watched on wireless laptop computers that once filled entire rooms.
As much as I love to read online newspapers and magazines, as well as a handful of blogs that have my interest, I watch a lot of video content over my high-speed internet connection from Qwest. Actually, to be honest about it, I seek a lot of video content. This has served to open my eyes and inform me of the world in which I live.
I watched a video last night about a Taiwanese boy who is a contestant on an American Idol-type shoe. The boy sang Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” like I’d honestly never heard it sung since Whitney. His performance, in English, was magical and I sat for a long while after reflecting on how truly remarkable we are.
The world has become smaller than ever. Even in the modern era, what used to take many hours now can happen in seconds. “Pictures at 11:00″ seems so kitsch these days. How about “pictures eleven seconds from now or it might be old news”? Sounds less kitsch and more like the way things are today.
Uploaded and streaming content from cell phones, video camera, and webcams tells the story as it unfolds. Secrets from around the globe are now available on YouTube, Hulu, and social networking websites like Facebook. Wanna watch a tornado as it happened? A quick search will bring you dozens of live videos, and your high speed internet connection will let you watch it in real time, without pauses, choppiness, or other challenges that have been successfully defeated.
Reading the news of the world is still pretty cool, but for the majority of us we live through our eyes first. Discover streaming video content from around the world, and let the power of your Qwest internet connection bring the live action right into your home, office, or even on the train home.
About the Author
Lincoln Wilder loves all things entertainment. His weekly music blog is a compilation of celebrity madness, album reviews, concert news, & sleezy celebrity drama; always written with absolute honesty and irresistible hints of sarcasm. Armed with only a laptop and Qwest high speed Internet, Wilder surfs the streams for the latest and not always greatest of the music world. If it involves music and is notable, it’s on his blog. While some call it madness, he calls it living, (not “a living,” as that would suggest compensation of some kind). Wilder does what he does purely for the joy of it, and is always open to the suggestions of his followers.
