Creation Science, and “The Flintstones” – was Hanna-Barbera on to something BIG?
Dinosaurs, and humans living together! Are there ancient
texts out there somewhere waiting to be deciphered? (Telling
of how “…and Bar-ney begat Bamm-Bamm; and all the days of Bar-ney were 900-or-so years; and he died.”)
This seems to be unlikely, though. Why?
Because Hanna-Barbera also produced “The Jetsons” which seems to indicate that we are NOT living in the last days, as fundamentalist leaders like to say (e.g., “Jetsons” is set in the 22nd century and the Rapture appears not to be coming anytime soon, although that talking dog “Astro” might hint at demonic activity. But if that’s the case, why does “Scooby Doo”(another Hanna-Barbera work) have a talking dog, occultism, and stoned kids running around WITHOUT proper adult supervision
and it is set in the 1970s? That’s a long time for God to hold off on the Tribulation!)
Still, you can’t deny how beautifully “Flintstones” depicts life in the pre-Flood world… right?
