How Do I Get Past Feeling Awkward When Practicing Scenes?
Im trying to land this modeling gig and I did well in the audition but I admit that i felt a little awkward doing the intimate scene.
The man had to lay on top of me and we were uncovered from our hips down.I felt a little awkward because I never did an intimate scene.
How do I get past feeling awkward when practicing scenes?
I’m not an expert, but I do know that practice makes perfect. The more you do something, the more comfortable you are when doing it and the more familiar you are with the atmosphere. It’s important to just relax when in the photoshoot and remember that you are both there for business, and you both probably feel equally awkward. Try to break the ice by talking to the other model previous to the shoot, some humour is always nice or just a friendly introduction. This was your first time, so it’s understandable that it might have made you feel extreme out of sorts–the feeling won’t disappear by the next intimate shoot, but it should dull over time. Another thing to do while in the shoot is to mask your uneasiness by trying to get into character as much as possible, so adopt the mindset for the theme of the shoot and try to portray it on your face and via body language–so absorb yourself, like an actress, within the scene to take your mind off of the discomfort.
Just keep doing your best at each photo shoot! Remember to relax, keep up confidence, and realize that you’re not the only one feelin uncomfortable! Good luck!
