Words And Phrases To Party With The Germans
The Germans are not the first people who come to mind when people think about party nations. The Germans have earned themselves a reputation as being serious and hard workers. It’s a mystery to me how the Germans managed to deceive the world like they have, because the reality is that Germans don’t really work as hard as people think. The reality is in fact very different. Not only do the German’s enjoy comparatively short working weeks but they also have some of the longest holidays. That’s why whenever you travel abroad it’s almost inevitable that you will meet Germans. Also these days Germans are more and more willing to accept a lower salary for more time off to enjoy quality time with friends and family.
It’s true that a popular German pastime is watching their favorite football team and celebrating football victories in style with plenty of freely flowing German beer. The German language reflects the popularity of partying in German culture with a huge variety of funny German words to talk about having a blast. For example the German equivalent of “to paint the town red” is “die Sau rauslassen” which literally means to let the pig out. I think you’ll agree that this popular german phrase is wonderfully descriptive and is a great way to describe mayhem in bars and on the streets when the national football team wins important international matches. Other useful German phrases for when a party gets into full swing and all hell breaks loose is “die Post geht ab” or “hier ist die Hölle los”.
As already mentioned, more than anything else international football victories inspire some of the longest and wildest German parties. The Germans celebrate well into the wee hours or in German “Sie feiern bis in die Puppen”. So the next time you’re on the lookout for a party holiday destination, I can highly recommend visiting Germany – especially if it’s during the football World Cup! The Bodyguard: Original Soundtrack Album $5.07 At the time of its release, this was the watershed for soundtracks, selling a kazillion copies. It documents Whitney Houston’s character in the Kevin Costner movie, which required Houston to play only herself (although one hopes she wouldn’t end up with someone as smarmy as Costner). The album is as much a testament to the production of Babyface who, through the mid-1990s, actually was the mainstr… |
