Gentle Giant

What do you think of the Gentle Giant Rescue?
They pop up when ever i search Irish Wolfhound rescues. All they ever seem to have is large breed puppies and uncommon dog breeds and TONS of “Woodles” “Noodles” and other strategy “oodle” dogs. My bff grandma swears their not right and she seems to know a lot about the pounds, shelters, and rescues in the area (Riverside/Norco, CA) i think their a puppy mill hiding behind a rescue
Check them out please tell me what you think.

Seem like an extravaganza with wild claims, over generalizations, and exaggerated quotes regarding their adoption rates per year and training of their dogs. Anything that is in the “extreme” is not a good thing. Making their own food and taking every chance possible to mention this is also a conflict of interests.
I’ve worked with many NPOs over the years…GGR seems like a flashy, false, fake show. Any “pure breed” rescue takes in mixes and mutts as well, obviously has no profit whatsoever, has fundraisers constantly, relies on community and volunteers, including professional volunteer trainers, news channels, veterinary staff, etc. Real NPOs attend community functions to advertise their adoptable pets. They don’t make TV ads, dog food, wild claims of “childproof” dogs, or have extreme requirements that permit the NPO to repossess the adopted dog at any time, or require the adopter to feed their own food, or follow other care requirements.
Your best bet is to go through the breed club of your state, and follow up with their rescue affiliations. The Irish Wolfhound Club of America has a detailed rescue org. list:

Irish Wolfhounds are not a common or popular breed, so the likelihood of finding one in need of a home is reduced. Our regional breed club (consisting of 5 states) adopts out 5-10 rescues per year. Very few.
Use the above link if you have your heart set on an Irish Wolfhound, although there are large wirehaired mixes in no kill shelters and rescues that closely resemble a Wolfhound in appearance.
