Do you think Frankie did the right thing in ending Maggie’s pain at the end of million dollar baby?
At the end of the movie, Frankie euthanizes Maggie, because she asked him to. She had gone from being a boxer in her prime, to being crippled and eventually loses her leg. What do you think about his decision?
I think I’m glad it wasn’t my decision to make. a terrible thing, but as you could see Maggie’s life wasn’t a life at all. She hated it. I think Frankie didn’t want to lose her, he would love to her by his side even in a state like that, it’s her who was in the greatest pain, she couldn’t stand it.
it was a hard decision for him, he did it for her, but he suffered the loss a lot. She was gone, but he was left with that pain forever, till the day he died. She did a selfish thing, too, – stopped her sufferings making his worse, but who can blame her? That was no life at all. Hard decision, I hope I’ll never have to make such a decision.
