If U live in Jersey and work in NJ, do you get double taxed?

I once heard that was not true, and someone else told me that you get double taxed. What does that mean?

No, you don’t get double taxed. What can happen is that you live in one state and work in another. In that case you pay taxes to both the state you live in and the state that you work in, but usually the state you live in gives you a credit for the taxes you paid to the state that you worked in. It’s not usually a $ for $ credit, but is the lessor of the tax liability to the other state, or the equivalent tax in the state you live in.
