What factors may have interrupted uniform motion?
We did a science lab and put a toy car down a ramp/up a ramp/ flat on the ground. it didn’t travel in uniform motion( we recorded with a dot timer that made dots for each .1 interval ) what kind of factors could have interrupted the motion in each situation? PLEASE AND THANK YOU ( the ramp was put on a desk a total of atleast 3m off the ground )
Uniform motion means constant velocity. Since you are rolling the car down a ramp with gravitational acceleration, the velocity is not constant and not uniform motion.
Edit: For flat on the ground, it should be uniform motion. But if the ground is not consistent throughout its path, the friction will be greater at different points and slow it down, and it is most likely not completely flat, so it will accelerate from small divots or depressions.
