Shot in the Dark

   Posted by: Admin   in Quests

This trait makes mobs run in fear allowing us to hit them without being hit for a short time. Maybe a version of cry of the predator for non-animals. It is a great solo combat skill.

To get it ou must acquire the book at the AH (always more than 1G) or get to level 39 and get it randomly from other level 39+ humanoids.

Talk to Legolas to get the quest (other legendary trits can be bought or farmed).

First 4 pages are dropped by wights at Nan Tornaeth (Trollshaws). You will have better chance to get the pages drop if you go there by dawn or evening. During the day you may get lucky but there are more wights during night.
- While doing this you will get reputation items for elves and some good looting that you can sell.

The other 4 pages drop from dwarves at Gabilizan (Misty Mountains).
- The dwarves drop some interesting items and the plus that there are crates and ancient vases for scholars.

Reputation Quests

Posted by: Admin   in General Gameplay, Quests

Get the reputation items and stack them in your inventory or in your vault space and exchange it all at once by getting the quest after the items. This will save space in your quest log since it is easy to reach the limit. Specially if you have normal quests and monster player quests besides reputation quests.

Healers

Posted by: Admin   in Group Combat

Besides Minstrels, Lore-Masters and Captains can heal.

Captains can even rezz (bring from defeat) a companion using the Escape From Darkness skill with half of morale and 1/4 power starting at level 20.

Lore-Masters can give some morale with the Beacon of Hope skill that can be incremented through traits.
At level 24 Lore-Masters can also transfer power to an ally.

Minstrels are by far the bet healers but depending on the group they can be replaced as any other class in the game.

Edan and Esyld

   Posted by: Admin   in Quests

These two wights at Garth Agarwen are very important since the chest in their area holds a key and the greatly appreciated Ferchu bow for hunters.

Edan can heal Esyld and Esyld can summon hillmen. The best approach is to disable one by stunning or traping him. Since both can do great damage I recommend taking on Edan first since he can heal even trapped.

Protect the main healer and talking is a must to not remove the wights from the stun.

Grimbark

   Posted by: Admin   in Quests

To defeat this master elite remove all roots ans specially bees, since they heal Grimbark, and do that first before focusing on the tree again. That will save lots of distraction and missing shots.

Do damage over time FM is its possible (Yellows).

Hunters can do a good use to the Rain of Arrows skill.

Roots will attack (if present) minstrels. Keep aggro from them by simply killing the bees.

A great example of a quest that needs good guardians or captains to gett aggro while the rest of the team kills adds and try to keep the group alive.

Ivar the Bloodhand

   Posted by: Admin   in Quests

One of the toughest quests on the game if you try to do it at lower levels. Still a good one. And frustrating some times since it require a good group.

Getting to Ivar does not mean you have a good group since most groups get to him and die several times once in front of him and his minions.

Some tips:

- The group needs a good Guardian.
- The groups that normally finish it easily have a mixture of all classes.
- A minstrel will help but a good guardian (again) needs to keep aggro from him / her.
- Hunters use anything you have to not aggro. Wait until the aggrohas been built (again, a good guardian).
- A Burglar can really help with triggering a fellowship maneuver. In that case DO NOT USE all reds.
- Use all yellow YYYYYY or, since it is common to loose power and health, use GYYYYB. Y will deal damage over time and this is good since Ivar is charged.
- Hunters hit Y.
- Hunters and Lore-Masters and any other class should focus on removing the adds, then on Ivar. Kill the banner-wights since they heal Ivar.
- Eat food, use buffs. Make it easier for the minstrel or the main healer.
- Lore-Masters can help for using their skills to debuff the enemies.
- A Minstrel can be useful to heal individually or in group as a backup.
- Burglars can also do some tricks and try to open a exploit (FM).
- Hunters can be good for DPS but will run out of power so food and the right stance is a must.
- Captains and champios can help also in DPS and helping the guardian.
- Guardian is a must.

Do not use “Thrust” skill

   Posted by: Admin   in Guardian

It is currently broken. The overwhelm skill is superior to it because:

- It can stun on critical
- It does more damage
- It is instant damage, as opposed to damage-over-time that Thrust does
- It costs the same amount of power.

So until it is fixed just use Overwhelm instead.
