Cross Over
What uses can i put a USB cross-over cable to, besides data transfer, … like running a virus scan?
My laptop has a good antivirus & other tooling / programs. Now can i scan other pc’s from my laptop ?
What other interesting things can i do with a usb cross-over cable

You can scan other PCs with a USB cross-over cable but there are factors to consider.
Some cables come with drivers which need to be installed on both PCs in order for file access or transfer to be possible.
In this case scanning the other PC should be possible with any AV program because the contents of the other PC are seen as attached storage.
Others do not have drivers, & require a network type connection to be established between th two PCs.
In this case your AV program must offer network scanning as a feature….many do, but not all.
The same rule surely applies to any other diagnostic software.
I can’t really think of any unique or original uses for it, but will surely let you know if any come to mind.
