Blondie On The Way Back!
That’s right you are reading correctly, the legendary band Blondie are set to return this year with a new album with a massive tour including UK dates! Deborah Harry who is 64 is still going strong along with the rest of the band and it is set to be one of the biggest comebacks of all time.
Although this is not going to be as big as the apparent This Is It tour of last year it is still going to be huge and for a Blondie fan like myself I cannot wait for their new album. Unlike Jackson there is no danger of them dropping off before it all kicks off because they have already taken part in some shows.
Why Does It Matter?
It is going to show younger stars who think they are all that on those drum kits and guitars who is boss and really show that after thirty years in the business a band can still be going strong. This could be a great thing for older bands because they may see this and think about making a return to music. If Blondie is able to make a return so can many others1.
They released a Blondified version of the song We Three Kings in time for Christmas 2009 and although it was only internet based it was certainly a big hit among the fans. This year is set to be a great one in music with artists like Blondie, Avril Lavigne and My Chemical Romance all looking to release new albums.
Rock Is King
So judging by this you will already know that in my eyes there is nothing that compares to the power of rock. Looking at the top 40 you will see that most of the music industry is pants, yes that’s right, pants. DJ equipment and computers doing all of the work, bring back the rock and the power of people who can actually sing!
