Cold Cold

Cold Cold
How do you keep food cold if u lived an half hour to hour away from store?

Me and my boyfriend planning to move soon. And we got 4 kids living with us has well. Where we moving to will be 30 minute to hour drive I think. It really depends where we go I guess. How can we keep cold food cold till we get back home. Will a cooler will be just fine without ice packs or anything. I would like some tips and advice. How should I shop for 6. Thanks.

Best thing to do it get a cooler and a few of those re-freezable ice packs. Put the ice in and take it with you, leave it in the car. There are some things that should be put in the cooler such as milk, frozen items, meats, and anything else that’s cold. That’s what I do, every time when it’s hot weather. I don’t want to take a chance on any food spoiling on the way home, it’s just too expensive. I cooler doesn’t work as well without ice packs because it would not be chilled before you put the foods in. When you put the ice packs in at home, they chill the cooler before you put the foods in.
You might have to go after cold foods more than once a week. Also if your getting like 4 gallons of milk, you can put them all together and wrap them in a thick blanket so they keep most of their coolness.
