Adding Black To Bring Cool To A Life

Shopping for black things for a cool life — or at least, life as cool as we wished it could be — means that one is interested in the solid side of life. Not only is black very slimming whenever it’s worn as a complete ensemble such as shirt, pants, tie and jacket but it is also timeless and unceasingly stylish when used in a wide variety of applications.

For example, think about the common black sport watch. It goes by many names and it comes in analog or digital styles, but there’s almost no man alive who hasn’t owned at least one at one point or another in his life. Remember that white and black are probably the two most common colors; and black — especially — can look good even when it’s on a pair of raggedy black jeans.

In truth, anybody who knows anything about colors understands that one of the ‘must have’ colors is black. Consider how stylishly cool a new black automobile looks, even if it’s just a small economy car. Black somehow brings a bit of danger to the game. It might take a bit more to keep such a car clean but the movies have featured a hero driving a black car for years, for example. How can it be wrong?

Rock ‘n roll also has known the color black and has used it well ever since it broke big-time in the late 1950s. For example, Eric Clapton — the British rock and roller who first came to prominence in the 1960s — has sported a Fender Stratocaster guitar in that color and which he has affectionately named ‘Blackie.’ Truly, he and that black electric guitar seem joined at the hip, literally.

Even motorcyclists understand that black is stylishly cool, and many of them sport a black helmet even if their bike is completely white or canary yellow. There’s just something about the color black that goes far in making a statement that says a lot about a person. Black can at once be somewhat Goth yet also ultra cool in demeanor, to tell the truth.

Popular music has featured a number of very memorable songs that feature that color. AC/DC’s ‘Back in Black’ is one example of a timeless rock ‘n roll classic that sounds just as good today as it did 29 years ago, when it first came out. Go shopping for anything these days and it’s a sure bet that something will be brought home that features the use of black as the dominant color.

What it comes down to is that those who understand color understand that black goes with anything. So when going shopping, one should consider using black as the fallback color whenever stuck trying to match up one item with another. Don’t color any world completely in black or it will look too far out there, but a nice selection of black in anything will certainly say something.
