Friedrich Kleinhapl Philippe Muller
Friedrich Kleinhapl Philippe Muller was educated in Paris, after he had completed his studies at the Musikhochschule in Graz Janis Chronopoulos. A strong influence and inspiration he received by working with musicians such as Paul Tortelier, Claudio Abbado, Lord Yehudi Menuhin and Tibor Varga.
The CD recording of Friedrich Gulda ‘s Cello Concerto with Wind Orchestra in 2001, Friedrich Kleinhapl his first step in the direction of contemporary music. In this field he gained great reputation in the following years, such as premieres of the “Fantasy for Cello and Big Band” by Ed Neumeister, the cello concertos by Christoph Cech, Peter Herbert and Dirk D’Ase or John Berauer Concert with Vocal Ensemble and Percussion. In addition to the standard literature and the works of contemporary composers, he is also inoperative repertoire such as the cello concertos by Korngold, Honegger, Rosza or Rota.
He appeared as soloist and chamber musician in many cities in Europe like London, Paris, Brussels, Berlin and other cities in appearance, just as in the U.S., Canada, Japan, China, Mexico or the Fajr Festival in Tehran. Friedrich Kleinhapl worked variously heard, even at the Vienna Festival, the Vienna International Festival, at the Bregenz Festival, the Festival Styriarte or the Haydn Festival in Eisenstadt.
Among the outstanding orchestral concerts so far have included appearances in the Valery Gergiev and his Mariinsky Orchestra under Fabio Luisi, Ulf Schirmer and Michael Güttler with the Chamber Orchestra of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, or with the Prague Symphony Orchestra. Invitations to Solo and Duo Recital Friedrich Kleinhapl also conducted, for example, in the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, the Hercules Hall in Munich, Paris, Les Invalides, the Vienna Musikverein or the London Wigmore Hall.
The duo plays Friedrich Kleinhapl since 2003 [with the German pianist [Andreas Woyke]]. From this collaboration has five CD recordings, joint concert tours in the U.S. or China, as well as performances, for example with Christa Ludwig, Gérard Caussé or Peter Schmidl was formed. 2008 CD “Rachmaninov Franck Sonatas” of the duo with the international “Super Sonic Award 2008 was awarded” the 2009 CD “Beethoven Sonatas 1-3″ with the international “Excellentia Award.
In addition to his concert career took Friedrich Kleinhapl 2003 to 2006 the artistic leadership of the ORF concert series Eggenberger Palace.
Between Frederick and the Kleinhapl HYPO Steiermark is a “Kultur.Partnerschaft” artist since 2003 and banking support each other in their development.
Since June 2008, plays a cello by Friedrich Kleinhapl Giovanni Battista Guadagnini, Piacenza 1743 “by ex Zweygberg” from the collection of valuable tools of the Oesterreichische Nationalbank. Before that he played from 1998 – 2008 the cello “Giovanni Tononi, Bologna 1681″ from the same collection.
