Traps

   Posted by: Admin   in Hunter

Crafted traps are expensive but if you need to solo elites they are a must. Even with enough DPS you need time to make good shots and keep morale up.
Use the trap skill and set another trap or multi trap. Then you can throw another trap while in combat. This greatly increments your chance to kill elites even above your level.

In the Haunted Forest, there is a misty, swampy area where there are level 18 bears. This area is a giant circle with about 15-20 bears. Once you hit level 35 or higher, you can farm a fair amount of money by “kiting” these bears together in groups of 4-6 bears and killing them at once.

Before starting, be sure your focus is at 100%. Then stand where you are in bow range of abotu 4-6 bears. Fire one shot at each of them and get them to come to you. Once they are all on top of you, use RAIN OF ARROWS as a nice area-of-effect (AOE) attack. Depending on your level, this will likely kill most of the bears. If not, you will be able to finish them off quickly with melee. Move to the next group and repeat. You can walk around this circle almost endlessly farming medium hides and vendor trash off these bears.

Loot them and collect medium hides and other vendor-trash items. A full stack of some of these vendor-trash items will sell for 8 silver, and you will have multiple stacks of this trash at the conclusion of your farming. In addition, the medium hides that drop will sell for several hundred gold on the auction house (depending on the going rate).

Soloing same level elite beasts with a hunter

Posted by: Admin   in Hunter, Solo Combat

- Buff (food, armor, whatever)
- Set Traps
- Use all that you got.
- When at 60 - 70% morale use cry of the Predator. Shot a couple times more and use Quick Shot to make the beast slower.
- Hit him again. When reaching 40 - 50% morale use Quick Shot again, use traps if you have (the ones that will work in combat).
- Run without make in it restart and use Quick Shot until you can use Cry of the Predator Again.
- At this point it should be over…

Use salves in case of emergency :D

Recommended Stats for Hunters

   Posted by: Admin   in Hunter

Agility (more damage, more critical hits)
Vitality (More morale)
Fate (More morale and power regen in combat)
Will (More power)
Might (More general stats)

Even though agility is #1 try to keep it just a little higher than vitality since if your agility is to high and the other stats (specially vitality) are too low you will start kicking hard but you will die faster.

Best Legendary Trait for Hunters

   Posted by: Admin   in Hunter

The most recommended legendary trait / book for a hunter at lvl 39 is the Shot in the Dark trait.
You can get the book at the AH or from lvl 39+ humanoids (you must be at least LVL 39). Then talk to Legolas at Rivendell and then gather the pages from North Trollshaws and Gabilazan (Misty Mountains).

Rain of Arrows Tactics

Posted by: Admin   in Group Combat, Hunter, Solo Combat

DO NOT use Rain of Arrows unless you are confident about the area of effect (AOE) that you will cover with this skill since that can get the attention of adds (aditional mobs around the area). It is a bad habit to use that in crowded areas and get more mobs into the fight.

Use Precision stance instead of the Strength Stance it is useful because it does not generates so much threat and decreases the power consumption of your shots by 10%

Posted by: Admin   in Crafting, Hunter

One of the best bows you can craft using the Woodworker Profession is the Carved Lebethron Bow. The capability to get some morale from the enemy is a great advantage.
