Can you work at the age of 14 and get paid in New York City?
if you had worked at the age of 14, then where did you work and how much do you get paid?
Yes you can. You have to apply to get work papers and until you’re 16 you can only work in the summer time. The Summer Youth program is for when you don’t have summer school. After 16 you can apply to other jobs.
My brother did it and I worked in the BPL for 5 years and we had summer youth workers that were 14 and up. You have to apply early though since they only take a certain amount of kids each year. Ask your school counselor or go to this site:

Edit for additional details: My brother worked 2 summers in a row for the same foundation that organized the Breast Cancer Awareness walk, I think it was the Avon company, mostly when they were getting everything together like the materials and the t-shirts and stuff. I usually went to Summer school so that I could get school finished as fast as possible so my first job wasn’t until I was 17.
