If you feel my choices are wrong, I will give the 10 points to whoever can replace the most on this list as long as you can give me the reason why he should be replaced.
This is one of my favorite subjects. You have compiled a very good list but I would replace Bunny Berrigan at #2 with Dizzy Gillespie, a true vituoso with a bent horn. That kicks off Doc Severinsen a very good trumpeter, but out of his class here.
I would replace Harry James with Miles Davis at #7. Davis practically invented jazz, he died in 1991 and he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, I think in 2006.
Harry James was “adequate” and a very good promoter of himself but not in the same category as these ‘greats’.
